KU Leuven is 600 years old this year! One of the oldest Universities in Europe and one of the top-ranking Universities in the world, KU Leuven is Belgium’s largest University but it is a beacon for knowledge and science throughout the world.
To celebrate this grand old age, there is a fantastic array of events on their way, from exhibitions and lectures, to music, poetry and science, this celebratory programme is sure to have something for everyone.
Why not visit the Wandering Garden, the gorgeous eye-catching artwork trail in Arenberg Park, or listen up to ‘Hear Hear’ on a tour of sound art installations throughout the city centre? You can even take a heritage walk (with a guide or by following an app) to discover a number of Leuven’s historic gems; more here on the guided tours and walks.
Later in the year, in October 2025, the University Library is holding a ‘Routes to Knowledge’ exhibition and Museum M is holding ‘The Pursuit of Knowledge’ exhibition which includes an art exhibition by Alicja Kwade.
