Ann McKenzie, Deputy European Welfare Office is looking at putting on an 8-week mindfulness course if there is enough interest.

DWP Update: Marriage Allowance – couples can save up to £252 a year on their tax bill
Some couples can save up to £252 a year on their tax bill by claiming Marriage Allowance.
To benefit from Marriage Allowance, the following circumstances must apply:
- the couple are married or in a civil partnership
- one person does not pay Income Tax because any income they have is below their tax-free Personal Allowance (usually £12,570)
- their partner pays Income Tax at the basic rate
They can find out more and apply for Marriage Allowance on GOV.UK and use the free online calculator to find out how much tax they could save.

SHAPE Fitness Centre Main Building Closure
From Saturday, 09 March until Friday, 22 March, the Main Building of the SHAPE Fitness Centre will be closed for Exercise.
To
support this significant NATO Exercise, the squash courts, spinning
suite, aerobic suite, weights, CV room, changing room, all offices, and
swimming pool will not be available.
The swimming pool, saunas, changing rooms, squash courts, weights and cardio room will reopen Saturday, 23 March.
All remaining Sports and Fitness areas will reopen Monday, 25 March.
The climbing wall will be closed 19 and 20 February. The main court area will be subject to closure from Monday, 26 February.
The Gymnasium Annex will remain open throughout with 24/7 access.
Customers who are not already registered for 24/7 access are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.
The
gym (including classes) at Chievres Air Force (CAB) Base will remain
available to all SHAPE ID (AMIS) Card holders during normal opening
hours:
Mon-Fri – 0600-1900, Sat-Sun – 0900-1700.
24/7 access to the Chievres Gym is NOT available to SHAPE ID holders.

BSG will consider coordinating a shuttle service with sufficient community interest.
Note:

Make A Wish - tshirt design - closes this Thurs 22nd Feb
Save the Date…… Make A Wish – 7th & 8th June 2024
The SHAPE Sports and Fitness will hold its annual Make a Wish event on Friday 7th & Saturday 8th June.
This
is a great family event, even if you aren’t taking part in the actual
running part …. There will be entertainment and food stalls.
Like
last year, they are doing a drawing contest for the T-shirt. The
contest winner’s design will be printed on all of the 3000 t-shirts.
The
t-shirt is not only an event souvenir, but it is one way of
significantly supporting the charity since all the benefits of these
t-shirts go towards Make-A-Wish—Belgium South.
We are asking all Shapian artists to submit their designs.
