VACANCY: HIVE INFORMATION SUPPORT OFFICER

The position of HIVE Information Support Officer (HISO) will become vacant very soon. It is a part-time non-industrial position category 3B of 25 hours per week and the starting rate of pay is € 1144.34 per month, going up to € 1537.76 in 14 annual increments. Employment in this position requires a BPSS security check as well as a DBS Enhanced check.
The HISO is responsible to the Head of Location SHAPE and to HIVE for the provision of up-to-date and relevant information support and signposting to the community. He/she works closely together with the 
Community Liaison Team. 

Duties include:
  • Providing up-to-date, relevant information on Belgium to the local Communities, actively researching local activities and advertising on Community pages as necessary.
  • Ensuring that HIVE information and SHAPE information are not in contradiction of each other, highlighting to the CLO Team where duplication of effort is occuring. 
  • Maintaining HIVE office space in SHAPE (permanent location) and Brussels to support the SNR, HoL and the CH, visiting Brussels at least once a month.
  • Working in conjunction with Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) and Host Nation Liaison Officers (HNLOs) in SHAPE and Brussels for all new arrivals; taking the lead on sending pre-arrival information on notification of an assignment, including keeping the HIVE section of the arrivals pack up to date and providing a welcome brief (virtual or physical) as part of the CH. 
  • Work with Community Liaison Officers in SHAPE and Brussels to deliver HIVE deployment and relocation information support as required.
  • Liaise with local CoC support agencies, through the HoL, to raise specific concerns.
Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English, as well as strong interpersonal and customer service skills. They should also be experience users of IT, including Microsoft applications. They have to be organised and able to work unsupervised. Applicants also need to be able to drive and ideally also have an understanding of Service Community.
