VEHICLE REGISTRATION

All personnel are to ensure that they MUST register ALL vehicles under their ownership.
It has become apparent that there are a number of SP’s who own more than one vehicle but have only registered the main one, this practice must stop! We are mandated to register all vehicles on the Belgium net without exception and inn the New Year SHAPE IMP, Federal Police and Belgian Customs will be setting up checkpoints and will stop anyone without Belgian number plates. If proof cannot be provided that the registration process has been started for the vehicle, and dependant on the length of time the Sponsor has been in post, there is a strong probability of a fine being issued.

Vehicle Registration is to be started on receipt of a SHAPE ID but no later than 7 days from import of the vehicle into Belgium. If you have more than one vehicle registered you will be liable for Belgium Road Tax on the second, and any other, vehicles imported; the vehicle with the largest engine is exempt road tax. On receipt of your licence plates you are to ensure that the principle plate (marked with a red sticker) is placed on the rear of the vehicle, the front plate is unmarked, failure to put them the right way round can result in the police stopping the vehicle and issuing a fine. Tax free fuel is not available for any vehicle that has not been registered, purchasing tax free fuel cards and using them for non-registered vehicles is illegal and could result in disciplinary action being taken against you.

Vehicle registration is completed in Bldg 210, you will need the following documentation in order to register your vehicle:

Vehicle Registration Documents (i.e. V5/BFG F73). The vehicle must be registered in the Sponsor’s name only.

Insurance Green Card.

Proof of CT pass (vehicles with towing capability of all ages and those over 3 years old)

SHAPE ID
