There is no need for an application, Cold Weather payments will be issued automatically to eligible claimants.
For Universal Credit customers a message about the payment will be placed into the journal at the same time. Claimants can read about the payments here on gov.uk, and they can check if a payment is due in their area if there is a cold snap.
