It’s that time of year! If you are due to renew your passport this year, did you know the process has changed?
The NSE no longer does this on your behalf, but they do need to know that you are applying for a passport renewal. You are now required to submit your own passport renewal online. Please remember to bear in mind the peak travel seasons and plan your renewal application accordingly.
TIPS FOR RENEWALS:
- Do let the NSE know that you are needing to apply for a passport renewal; this will get the process rolling.
- Do use the NSE/BFPO Address in section 2 of the application.
- Make sure you keep a note of your application reference number and the office you registered online with.
- Bring your old passport to the NSE and provide them with the details of your application reference number and the office you submitted to; the NSE will return your old passport along with a covering letter (which also goes to the Armed Forces Team) to ensure that everything is married up.
- Passport renewal costs can be claimed back by the Serving Person via JPA.
