Teaching Remembrance

Remembrance is a prescient time for bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together to reflect upon the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces, and to join together in the hope for a brighter, peaceful future.

As the champions of Remembrance and the UK’s leading Armed Forces charity, The Royal British Legion brings the whole nation together on 11 November every year.

A vital part of our work is to support the teaching of Remembrance across the UK, from schools to youth clubs to individuals who simply take an what we can learn from the wars of the past.

Teaching Remembrance is key to understanding how modern diverse Britain was created and the shared heritage of service and sacrifice across all the UK’s communities.

It also allows us to better comprehend what those who served, both on the front-line and at home, went through. The benefits of these lessons are vast, particularly for children and teenagers.

Through our teaching materials, everyone can access and learn about the heritage and tradition of Remembrance.

With a personal goal to create awareness of the potential for materials that often go to waste, the Copenhagen, Denmark based Dambo uses only recycled materials to craft all of his works.
